Great black and white photographers, PART 2

The photographer I chose was William Klein. Klein was born on April 19, 1928 and is still alive, with the age of 89. He was born in New York City. He enrolled at the City College of New York at the age of 14 to study sociology, due to his early graduation from high school. He also went to La Sorbonne, and studied with Fernand Léger, to further his education. He would later join the U.S Army and was then stationed in Germany and later France, which is where he would then settle after being discharged. At one point he was an art director for Vogue, but then later switched over to photography. He then achieved widespread fame as a fashion photographer for Vogue. He is best know for photography, paintings, and cinema. His large collection of awards include Prix Nadar (1957), Prix Jean Vigo(1967), Hasselblad Award (1990), Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal and Honorary Fellowship (1999), Outstanding Contribution to Photography Award, Sony World Photography Awards (2012).
